Five times a day

Five prayers

Muslims pray FIVE times in one day. Not once. Not twice. Five separate times, spread right across the day, from early morning until after dark. Each one is a short pause to talk to Allah, then life carries straight on, right where it stopped.

Morning to night

The first prayer is before sunrise. Then one around midday. Then one in the afternoon. Then one at sunset. Then one at night. Five points across one whole day, roughly evenly spread out, not bunched together at all, so no gap gets too long.

Fitting around the day

School still happens. Meals still happen. Playing still happens. Salah fits in AROUND all of that, not instead of it. A short pause, five times, inside a normal busy day, then life carries on as before, right where it left off.

Picture an ordinary school day. Wake up before sunrise: first prayer. Off to school. Midday: second prayer, a short pause in the school day. Home time, afternoon: third prayer. Dinner time, as the sun sets: fourth prayer. Bedtime approaching, after dark: fifth prayer. School, meals, playing and homework all still happened. Five short pauses were simply fitted in around them, not instead of them.
