Colours in Arabic

Right to left
Arabic is not read like English. English goes left to right. Arabic goes right to left. Your eye starts on the right side of a word. It moves left as you read it, all the way along.
Red and blue
أحمر (aḥmar) means red. أزرق (azraq) means blue. Say them out loud. Point to something red. Point to something blue. Say the word for each colour as you point. Say it twice, to help it stick.
Yellow and green
أصفر (aṣfar) means yellow. أخضر (akhḍar) means green. Find something yellow near you. Find something green too. Say the word out loud each time you find one. Say it slowly, then say it fast.
A colour hunt
Look around your room. Find one red thing. Find one blue thing. Find one yellow thing. Find one green thing. Say the right word for each colour as you find it. Ask a grown-up to check you got each one right, then try a new room.
Colours everywhere
Colours are everywhere you look, all day long. Practise these four words a lot: aḥmar, azraq, aṣfar, akhḍar. Say one out loud each time you spot that colour. Soon the words will come to you fast, with no need to stop and think.
